What is art about?

Art is expression - the silent voice of the soul made visible.
It allows the unseen to be seen: emotion, perspective, longing, tenderness, memory, and quiet revolt. It gives shape to the things we feel but cannot always explain.
Art is a memory trigger. It reaches into the hidden corners of time and awakens what we thought we had forgotten - a scent, a season, a face, a room, a landscape, or a fleeting touch of childhood.
Art is a feeling, not always nameable. Sometimes it brings joy. Sometimes it stirs sorrow. Often, it simply holds space for what words cannot contain.
Art is a dream suspended. A vision of what could be, or what once was. A soft rebellion against the harshness of reality. A safe place to wander, wonder, remember, and imagine.
Art is also a reminder - of the past, yes, but also of beauty, connection, grief, grace, and tenderness. It reminds us that we are not alone in what we feel, and that we are not bound only by what we see.
Sometimes, art is a mirror.
Other times, it is a window.
Often, it is both.
